Clarity changes what becomes possible.

Conflict does not always need to be avoided. Sometimes it needs to be understood differently.

HEARUnderstand what is really happening before you react.
HEALRecognize what you may be carrying into the moment.
HOLDHonor truth, values and boundaries without abandoning yourself.
IGNITE™Take the next courageous, intentional step.
The Woman Behind the Work

I have been watching conflict for a very long time.

“There has to be a better way.”

I grew up watching conflict up close. I watched my parents argue, physically fight, and eventually divorce. I also watched people step in to help. Sometimes they helped. But sometimes it seemed they simply did not have the tools, understanding, or intentions needed to truly change what was happening.

Even then, something began taking root in me: there has to be a better way.

Life would give me more opportunities to understand that question. I experienced marriage, divorce, and eventually remarriage after thirteen years. I saw firsthand how conflict can affect not only two people, but children, families, and entire communities.

As my life expanded beyond my immediate family, so did my perspective. Through volunteering in East Africa, immigrant communities and hospitals, and later through my life in the United States, I continued to see the effects of unresolved conflict—sometimes quietly, sometimes painfully, and sometimes across entire communities.

I began to realize that what I had witnessed growing up was not an isolated family story.

Conflict was everywhere.

And too often, people were trying to navigate it without the tools they needed.

My search for those tools eventually led me to law. I wanted to understand systems, rights, responsibility, advocacy, and the ways people navigate difficult situations.

While volunteering with refugees and supporting them in hospital settings, I became increasingly aware of another kind of inequity. I saw people who were underrepresented and underserved, and that experience led me toward clinical research and a desire to contribute to better outcomes for people living with sickle cell disease.

Again, I was learning something deeper: people's lives are shaped by systems, relationships, access, culture, and the conflicts that exist within and around them.

In immigrant communities, I watched families struggle as cultures, expectations, gender roles, parenting styles, and ideas about marriage collided. Families were changing. Some were breaking apart. And it broke my heart.

Because I could see that many of these families were not necessarily lacking love. Sometimes they were lacking tools.

People needed ways to communicate across differences, navigate cultural change, understand conflict before it became destructive, and have difficult conversations without destroying the relationship.

Why women?

I believe women are strategic in creating change because women are often deeply connected to the emotional and relational life of families. But this is not about placing the responsibility for fixing families on women.

It is about equipping women.

Because I am a woman, I understand the complexities women often carry—the expectations, relationships, caregiving, cultural pressures, desire to keep peace, temptation to remain silent, and exhaustion of being the one who holds everything together.

And I also know that women need permission to stop carrying everything alone.

This is why I do this work.

I don't believe conflict is always the enemy. I believe unresolved conflict can become destructive—but conflict itself can also become an invitation.

An invitation to listen. To understand. To heal. To establish boundaries. To speak. To change. To grow.

My professional journey—as a legal professional, Certified Mediator, Certified Human Rights Advocate, coach and speaker—has given me tools.

But my life has given me perspective.

And together, they have shaped the work I do today.

“If we start by understanding conflict, we can begin to build a better world.”

That is the work.

Hear. Heal. Hold. Ignite™.

Not because conflict will disappear, but because we can become better equipped to meet it.

HEAR

Before we react, we listen—to the words, the emotion, the need and what may be underneath the conflict.

We acknowledge what the conflict has stirred up, because unresolved hurt can follow us into the next conversation.

HOLD

We learn to hold truth, boundaries, dignity and compassion at the same time.
